Burn calories while you sleep!

Do you know what is the reason to drink a glass of milk before you sleep? so that you won't feel hungry? So that you can sleep better? No No NO!!! Alright, let me tell you, the reason to drink a glass of milk before you sleep is because it can actually burn calories during your sleep!

Not only milk, all dairy products works the same. The casein protein in them will digests slowly and will not turn to fat easily. This means it continues to supply amino acids to our muscle mass and our body will burn calories even when we sleep!

Wow, i wonder how true is that? eat more cheese lar, drink more milk and these can help us burn calories while we sleep? hmm... you try lar, then let me know.. :p

An apple a day ...

An apple a day, keeps the doctor away. Ya i think most of us know that but when do you eat the apple? After meal? It is actually best to eat an apple before your meal not after! If you eat apple before meal, it makes you feel fuller and curbs the urge to overeat.

Oh ya, and it's best to keep the peel on as it has the anti cancerous properties. Well, so many wax on the peel, how to eat wor.... :p So remember to eat apple before meal and not after meal ya!!

I love yogurt!

Yogurt benefit our health in a variety of ways. In order for our body to function at its best, we need the active live cultures(good bacteria) from yogurt. These good bacteria prevent the growth of harmful bacteria that cause bacterial infections and diseases. Besides that, it can also promote digestive health and boost our immune system.

When i was a little gal, whenever my aunt brought me yogurt, i will put it in the freezer. Yogurt in the freezer? haha, tat's right! The reason i put it in the freezer is because i don't really like the taste of yogurt (that time not much yogurt with fruits la..), but if put it in the freezer and eat it like ice cream, then you won't taste much of the yogurt taste. hehe..

As I grew older, I gradually like yogurt. No more putting it in the freezer. hehe, but i still dun like those pure yogurt, still can't really take it. If you want your kids to eat yogurt but you are afraid they don't like it, perhaps you can try buying this..

I think this is for kids lar. hehe, it doens't have much yogurt taste and i'm sure kids would love it. I love it too. :p The grapes and mango and strawberry flavour also not bad, but I don't like the vanilla.. Try lar, it's really nice, if you are a yogurt beginner, hehe, you definitely will like this.

Gourmet Pie @ Secret Recipe, yum yum...

A lot of ppl said they like the cakes from Secret Recipe, as for me, I don't like cakes, but i do have a lot of interest in their pies!

Gourmet Pie, RM 9.80

When i asked the waitress what's inside the little bowl, is that soup? She told me, no, it's something like sardine or tuna. huh? sardine or tuna in that bowl? Are you kidding? Luckily i didn't listen to her. hehe.. so what's inside?

creamy chicken with corn soup.

a closer look.

I was actually hoping it's tomato soup, I once tried the pie with tomato soup at one of the coffee shop in JB, it's superb. But this creamy chicken with corn soup also not bad, just that it's a little bit too thick and creamy. I guess Secret Recipe should really start training their waiter and waitresses before they simply tell the customer what's inside the pie. Well, if you're not sure wat's in the pie, i rather you tell me you don't know, than just simply give me an answer...

Expresso Macchiato, RM 5.50

Hmm, wasn't really expect a small cup like that!! I had the expresso Macchiato @ the Starbucks last week and it's nothing like this! same name but totally different taste! I wonder which one is the original one...

Starting from next year January, Hotel Nikko announces the return of the 150 dishes promotion at Toh Lee Chinese Restaurant. The all you can eat buffet style lunch and dinner will be available every Friday, Saturday and Sunday. How much? RM 69++ per pax.

Hmm, as far as we all know, hotels seldom able to cook nice chinese dishes. For example, when your company says, let's go so and so hotel for chinese food, in your heart you probably will say, chinese food in hotel? want meh? normally not nice one wor...

As for buffet style, I would prefer the mixture of chinese, western, malay and japanese food. What about you? Will you go try the Hotel Nikko's buffet? RM69+ consider not too expensive also lar, for a hotel but i think I won't go try it out lar.. unless someone tried and said it's very very nice...

The new Ribena Lemon

As you all know, I love lemon. hehe, I made myself a cup of warm lemon + water every morning. Besides this, I love Lemon Tea (not the can type la..), I love lemon + honey and I love to drink ribena with lemon too! Yummy!

Recently I saw the ad from Ribena which promotes it's new flavour drink. Yes that's right, it's Ribena + Lemon, 25% less sugar and rich in vitamin C! What a good choice they've made, nowadays a lot of ppl prefer less sugar (see vitagen also got less sugar lar, actually it taste nicer too, not too sweet) and getting more and more ppl know about the benefit of lemon.

hmm, i can't wait to try it. I wonder my homemade ribena mix with lemon nicer, or their Ribena with Lemon nicer.. hehe... Have you tried before?

How to shorten your life by 10 years

Read an interesting article about how to shorten your life by 10 years. hehe. who will want to shorten their life? This article is not teaching you how to live shorter lar, it's telling you these are some of the things that can caused your life to be shorten by 10 years. So if you want to live longer? then stop doing all these things lar, if you want to die earlier.. then do more of these things lor. :p haha, just joking lar.. So what are 'there' things?
1. Negative emotions will lead us to illness and increasing the risk of heart disease or stroke. Therefore, be optimistic, be happy!

2. When you have no friends, you will die earlier! wow.. seriously ar? hehe, the article never explained much but i guess, if you have no friends, you got no one to talk to and thus you will keep all your unhappy feelings in your heart, that is why it'll shorten our life la!

3. Drink too much! hmm, this one i think a lot of ppl also know lar..
So after reading this, are you someone who is going to live shorter by 10 yrs, or someone who live longer by 10 years?

Tiramisu from Starbucks

Tiramisu again? haha, ya ya, I don't know why this FL loves Tiramisu so much. Everywhere he goes, everytime he sees a cake, he think of Tiramisu. The Tiramisu from Secret Recipe, the tiramisu from Berrys, and now Tiramisu from Starbucks. Tiramisu really that nice meh?

On Christmas eve, we were lepaking at the Jusco Kepong. wow, long time nv used that word 'lepak' already.. Anyway, after dinner at Kepong, we wanted to avoid the jam, therefore we went walk walk @ Jusco Kepong. And then he saw Starbucks, and he saw Tiramisu. So we ended up in Starbucks eating Tiramisu lor...

we were there about 10pm+,
not much ppl.. i guess
everyone went count down gua..

less ppl better lar. hehe..
can slowly choose your seats,
enjoy the quiet and peaceful environment,
with a cup of coffee and a magazine.

FL's Espresso Frappucinno, RM 13.50

My super big cup of
Caramel Mocchiato, RM 13
Not sure is that the correct name,
hehe forgot the name already..

and lastly, the Espresso Tiramisu, RM 8.80

Looks nice right? But FL said not nice wor.. He thinks the coffee bean one nicer. As for me, all tiramisu also taste the same to me. :p I still don't like it!!

Get lost ANTS!!

Ants ants ants, always giving us lot's of problems. You accidentally left something sweet on the table, they will come clean it up for you. In fact, not only sweet stuff lar, even my mouth wash, toothpaste, sometimes also full with ants! They are just everywhere in the house.

I've actually blog about How to get rid of ants before. Did you guys try it out? Does it work? hehe, I haven't got the chance to try that out so I can't tell you whether it works or not. Anyway, I read about how to get rid of ants from the magazine, another way.. let me share with you.

According to the magazine, to keep ants out of the house, first you got to find out where the ants entering the house. Yes, the entry point. Once you found out, sprinkle a barrier of cinnamon or any type of ground pepper to block their way.

Oooo.. ants scared hot stuff? I wonder chili works or not? or maybe cili padi? hahahahahahah...

Pork Chop With Red Sauce (红汁猪扒)

I love pork chop especially the pork chop with red sauce What's red sauce? Tomato sauce la. hehe.. I still remembered the first time i ate the pork chop rice with red sauce at Kim Gary, I totally fell for it! But i don't know why now they stop serving that dish, tried a lot in other Hong Kong style restaurant, none of it can compare the one i tried at Kim Gary. Therefore I decided to try it out myself, no recipe how to cook ar? haha, dono leh, experiment time!!

bought these pork chop from carrefour, RM 4++

Marinate the pork chop with a little bit
of sugar, soy sauce, oyster sauce and pepper.
marinate for at least an hour.

mix bread crumbs with fried chicken flour.

coat the pork chop with the bread crumbs
and fried chicken flour.

fry it!

after fried.
looks nice right?

i cut the pork chop into
smaller pieces, easier to eat mar.. hehe..
ok, let's prepare the sauce.

stir fry onion.
actually one medium size onion should be enough,
but i love onions, therefore i used 2.
stir fry for a minute, add in a little bit of sugar.

pour in the tomato.
try to press press the tomato
a bit. stir fry for 2-3 minutes.

when the tomato are soft,
pour in some tomato sauce and a little bit of water.
then add a teaspoon of vinegar.

and we're done!
haha, too much onion covered up
all the pork chop. but it's nice..
try it out urself!

Grapefruit, prevent cancer or the other way round?

I've always heard grapefruit and other citrus fruits are very good in preventing cancer. It is very rich in vitamin C and antioxidants which may help to reduce cancer risk. I've heard and i've read about it then suddenly one day, i received a forwarded email which says grapefruit actually caused cancer!! what??!!

The forwarded email is about a story of a lady who got cancer. She said she used to eat one grapefruit everyday and recently she was diagnosed of getting cancer. (forgot what cancer she got) Anyway, she said the doctor claimed that it MIGHT be the grapefruit that causing it.

From the internet, you can see tonnes of articles saying grapefruit is good, can prevent cancer and on the Internet itself, you can also see ppl saying grapefruit is no good, can caused cancer. Which one should we believe? No wonder ppl say don't trust everything you get from the Internet...

The Muso Biscuit from Bee's Bakery

I like to go to buy bread from the Bee's Bakery. Why? They have a lot a lot of variety, especially the one in Kepong, Jusco. I love it when they packed their bread/cake/biscuits in small small packets. Other bakery selling one packet, they sell piece by piece. By buying piece by piece, we are able to taste a lot of different bread/cakes/biscuits at one time. Nice!!

Muso Biscuit, RM 0.80 per piece.

Muso biscuit? what's this? I wasn't sure what's inside, never heard before, not sure how it taste as well, but since we can buy one piece, no harm buying one to try lar. even if it's not nice, it's just only one piece mar, can easily finished it.

It smells so nice when I removed the plastic.

outside crunchy, inside soft. Yummy!!
it's a bit like the mooncake, except the skin is
crunchier, and it's less sweet.
I love it!

If you guys happened to go to the Bee's bakery shop, buy one and try lar. it's really nice!!

Let's eat broccoli!

Broccoli is well known of lowering cancer risk and generally improve health. It is closely related to cauliflower. I don't really like cauliflower but I love broccoli. Don't asked me why. hehe.. To me, both of them taste differently!

Preparing broccoli is easy. You can either steam of boil the broccoli in water. Stir fry onion or garlic with a little bit of oil, add a bit of soy sauce and oyster sauce and pour it over the steamed/boiled broccoli.

easy to prepare and super delicious!
remember to try it out yourself!

My company lunch and gift exchange party

There's no party without food. Same goes with my company lunch a.k.a gift exchange party. We asked for catering service. Can't really expect too much with catering food, hehe.. but it does looks nice!

looks nice and colorful right?
black, red, orange, white, green.. hehe..
the food so so only but i like the
sambal sotong. yummy!!

We have a malay colleague, therefore the food must be halal. We also have colleague who is a vegetarian. Besides this, we also have a cheese cake, a big box of salad, and a big box of sandwiches. As for drinks, we have orange and sparkling juice. Fruits, watermelon and papaya, nicely wrapped in small plastic bags. Once in a while company should treat their staff also mar, right? hehe....

Is this the famous steamboat shop in Kepong?

There are quite a number of steamboat shops around Kepong. Which is nice? Ppl said the one with the word 'ketam' is nice.. I'm not sure whether which exactly is the shop, but this shop got the word 'ketam' and there's a lot of ppl, so i guess should be this gua. hehe..

Restoran Hao Ji Seafood Steamboat
(好记海鲜火锅) @ Kepong
did i go to the right shop?
the famous steamboat in Kepong?

There was really a lot of ppl, we were there at about 7+ and we're lucky to get the last table. Izzit becos of the rainy day or becos this is the famous steamboat? hehe, i have no idea.

half tom yam, half chicken soup.
tom yam taste not bad..

besides the soup, the chili is also
very important when eating steamboat.
This chili is nice, spicy enough!

This is for 2 person.
the things they give
is a bit less if compared to
other steamboat shop. vege also little bit only..
but all the stuff are quite fresh.
i like the fish..

as usual, 2 eggs + meehun + yee mee

The total of our bill = RM 27. RM 12.50 per person for steamboat and we ordered chinese tea, RM 2. Hmm, the food are fresh, the soup are ok, but there's nothing very special about the shop. Perhaps this is not the famous steamboat shop in Kepong?

Italiannies @ One Utama

Some of my friends told me the food @ Italiannies are nice, some said so so only, so the best is i go try it out myself. hehe.. Actually I've been wanting to try out this place, seems like always full house, the food must be quite nice, else why so many ppl?

see, lot's of ppl going in...

We asked for a non smoking place, the waiter brought us to the very end of the shop, wow, didn't know this shop is sooooo deep inside, i thought it's only a small restaurant. Almost all the tables were occupied, mostly families or big groups dining there.

When we looked at the menu, we both regret stepping in to the shop. Why? seems like every dish also need RM 40+ onwards. Pasta for RM 40+ quite expensive right? We flipped from the front, to the back and to the front again, having problem deciding what to eat. hehe... After a while only i realized the RM 40+, RM 50+ above are recommended for 3-4 persons one. Aiseh.. scare me.. no wonder lar, if 3-4 person share RM 40+, then not very expensive also lar..

At the end, we decided to order a pasta and a pizza. When we make our order, the pizza and pasta, the waiter told us we most probably can't finish. Why? The pizza we ordered is for two person, and the pasta we order also for 2 person. Har? everything is for two person? Nothing for 1 person one meh?? We decided to give up the pizza, and took the pasta and a salad.

FL's ice lemon tea (bottomless), RM 6.80

my Lemonade, RM 7.50.
I highly recommend this, super nice!!

this one is free one..
i dun really like it, herb smell very strong.
The bread goes with...

this!!
strange right? bread with oil & vinegar?
well, actually i'm not sure what is this, my guess
is olive oil and vinegar. hehe. correct me if i'm wrong...
just so not used to it.. hehe..
cannot tahan the taste.
didn't touch this at all! :p

Spaghetti with meatball (2 meatballs), RM 30.90
(for 2 person)

see the meatball? super big.
taste quite nice..

The Chicken Salad, RM 27.90
we didn't aspect so big portion!!
very very big plate, we both eat
until super full.
There's grapes, honey dew, tomato,
chicken chunks, bread crumbs, vege
and mayonnaise. nice!!

There's a 5% govt tax and a 10% of service charge. The total of our bill including the tax = RM 84.10. Hmm, to me the food so-so only, if you only order the pasta, maybe not enough for 2 person, but if you order another dish, then it will be too much. I wonder why their dish are for 2 person, what if i come alone? then i got nothing to order? maybe there are dishes for 1 person, but the menu didn't state clearly also lar.. hmm, i'm not sure lar.. But i think i most probably won't visit this restaurant again lar.. a bit dissapointed ..

The famous Chicken Curry Puff @ ss2

Me and my colleagues decided to go ss2 for lunch on Friday. We were heading to one of the Yong Tau Fu shop @ ss2. We parked our car at the car park and walked over to the shop. On our way to the Yong Tau Fu shop, we passed by this famous Chicken curry puff stall at one of the corner chinese restaurant (sorry, forgot the name of the chinese kopitiam. hehe..)

Wow, it smells nice.. it had been quite some time since i last ate the curry puff. I decided to get one for myself since so long never taste it. Last time RM 1 each, now, RM 1.20 each. It's quite expensive for a curry puff but then again, it's really worth it, and of cos, it's bigger than the normal curry puff.

dun play play, see the newspaper articles or not?
it's all over the stall! even the 'ho chak' also
visited this stall before!!

frying frying, lot's of curry puff!
smells really good!

the size is 2 times bigger
than the normal curry puff.

delicious!!
have you try this before? if not,
you really should try it out!
