My very last bowl of beef noodle in Taiwan (大雅小吃)

You probably will say.. what? beef noodle again? Hahahahaha, trust me lar, taiwan's beef noodle really very nice ler. You can get a yummy bowl of beef noodle at any of the shop/stall. Plus, I think this will be my last bowl of beef noodle in Taiwan lar, so must eat must eat.. hehe...

We picked this shop which located at a few street away from our hotel. It's a very small shop which consists of 3 to 4 tables.

大雅小吃

The menu

FL's Pork Ribs Rice (排骨饭), nt 70 (RM 8.20)
not cheap at all!!

My Beef Noodle(牛肉面)
nt 70 (RM 8.20)

green color dumplings, 水饺
nt 45 (RM 5.30)

Actually this is ONLY the 3rd time I'm having beef noodle as dinner in Taiwan...hehe If you asked me which one taste better, this, or the 30 yrs old shop, or the one I had opposite our hotel, I would say the best beef noodle I've tried is the one opposite our hotel, yummy!!

As for the dumplings, the dumpling we had on our first day in Taiwan taste better. This green dumpling's skin is very thick, so not so nice..

Anyhow, it's still a satisfying meal... yum yum...

Zhuang Yuan Biscuit (状元饼)

The name attracted us to stop in front of this stall at Raohe Street Night Market (饒河街觀光夜市). What is 'Zhuang Yuan'(状元饼)? Zhuang yuan is someone who gets the highest score in exams and they will be given a position by the king during the olden days. So does that means eating this will make us become a 'zhuang yuan' too? haha..

状元饼

It looks similar to indian's putu piring...don't you think so?

except it's smaller and i think our putu piring looks nicer.. hehe...

nt 25 (RM 2.90) for 2 pieces or 3 pieces (sorry, forgot. hehe..)
not cheap right?

Guess what, it taste similar to our putu piring too, except it's less sweet... hmm, not bad... nice to eat when it's still hot!

Famous lu rou fan in Taiwan (胡须张鲁肉饭)

We all know Taiwan is famous of their beef noodle, that's a must try food if you visit Taiwan (of cos, if you eat beef lar..). But besides the beef noodle, do you know their 'lu rou fan' 鲁肉饭 (minced pork rice) is also a must try food?

We had tried the lu rou fan 鲁肉饭 at a small shop opposite our hotel. It taste good. According to the forumers, there's a restaurant around wufenpu (五分浦) which serve the best 'lu rou fan'. Well, since we're heading to wufenpu now, we definitely must try lar!!

胡须张鲁肉饭

the menu
besides the minced meat rice,
they also serve chicken, vegetables, soup and etc

鲁肉饭, small, nt 30 each (RM 3.50)

It may not look as good as it taste, but trust me, it's really VERY delicious!! After we tried this, we both felt that the one we had opposite our hotel, is not really that tasty. hahahahahaha..

Shao Shing Drunken Chicken (绍兴醉鸡)
nt 100 (RM 11.75)
I don't like the chicken, it's from the fridge, it's cold!!
but FL loves it!

Bitter Gourd Pork Rib Soup (苦瓜排骨汤)
nt 65 (RM 7.60)
I love the soup, nothing special,
just like our bitter gourd soup here, but it's nice!

The whole meal adds up to nt 225 which equivalent to RM 26.40 (2 lu rou fan, one soup and one chicken, we did not order any drinks). It's not cheap but I think it's worth to try, erm, not the chicken, but the lu rou fan!! hehe..

De'Chiengmai Thai Seafood Restaurant @ Sungai Buloh

I first heard about this place from FL. He told me two of his colleagues mentioned this restaurant to him within a week. They knew we loved thai/spicy food, that is why this restaurant is highly recommended by them.

They didn't really tell us the direction to go to this restaurant, the only thing they told FL is that this restaurant is in Sungai Buloh. I asked around and found a friend who is living in Sungai Buloh, and thanks to her clear directions, I found the restaurant! Thanks K!! :)

First, find the Sungai Buloh KTM, there's a traffic light before you can turn left to the KTM, go straight, then on the second traffic light, turn left and go straight till the end. The restaurant is on your left. You won't miss this restaurant cos it's huge!!

De'Chiengmai Thai Seafood Restaurant @ Sungai Buloh

Exactly how big is this place? Let me show you..

I'm standing at the place where we parked our car, see the compound? Sorry for the poor photo quality, I'm taking this with my hp. :) There were not many cars, I think less than 10 include ours.
koi fish pon in front of the entrance of the restaurant

the entrance to the restaurant

Both FL's colleagues and my friend mentioned this to me, they all said the food there is pricey, BUT they don't accept credit card, so please remember to bring more cash. haha..luckily they told me in advance lar, else i'm gonna end up washing plates there. :p

Cash Only
and yes, it's pricey..

few tables occupied

Mango Juice, RM 5

Coconut, RM 6

Rice, smells really nice! RM 1 each.

see, very little only..3 tablespoon finish lor..

Kerabu Pauh, RM 15 (small)
this is not so nice, both of us feel it's not spicy enough..

kangkung belacan, RM 8 (small)

The kangkung is really very nice. Should have ordered a medium one for this. According to FL's colleague, they plant their vegetables themselves, no wonder it's so tasty!! It's fresh and yummy!!

Ayam Goreng Cili, RM 18 (small)
this is not bad too, the portion is very little..

Tom Yam Campur, RM 35 (medium)

Whenever we visit a thai restaurant, tomyam is the must order dish and normally it'll be the best among all other dishes, that is why we ordered a medium one for this. But seriously? their tomyam soup disappoint us. With that kind of price? It's not good at all, not hot enuf, not spicy, even the seafood not really fresh too...

here, if you're interested to go try it out..
Add: No.95 Jalan Kampung Melayu,
47000 Sungai Buloh.

Our bill adds up to RM 90. How do I feel? Expensive, really expensive. Beside the kangkung, other dishes are just ok. I did see a lot of ppl ordered crabs and prawns, maybe those taste better..
