Have you tried the Water Chestnut Tong Shui before? I never!! During my last trip to Ipoh, I went to this shop to have my dinner/supper, to eat the Hor Hee. So when I saw FL ordered the Water Chestnut Tong Shui (马蹄糖水), I feel like trying one too. I think I never had this before in my entire life!

I love chee cheong fun. I love those plain one, with just sweet sauce and chili sauce but I can't seems to find it in KL. Do you know where to find?
Anyway, whenever I go Ipoh, I will definitely order the chee cheong fun, plain chee cheong fun with sesame, sweet sauce, chili sauce and green chili!!

Ipoh Food ~ Dai Gao Min (大旧面)
Before I post this post, I did ask my friend, ws, how to write 'dai gao min' in chinese. I wanted to write it as 大块面 'dai fai min' but then she said it will become 'fai' instead of 'gao', so she advise me to use '旧'. Sounds a bit weird also lar, aiyar, nvm lar, as long as you understand...
I don't really like 'dai gao min', bought a few times @ pasar malam, all not nice one.. UNTIL FL introduce me to the Ipoh's 'dai gao min'. Oh my, it's really NICE!!

Ipoh Food - Hor Hee (河喜)
Have you heard of Hor Hee (河喜)? Well, if you are from Ipoh, then I guess you've heard before. But if you are from somewhere else, I don't think you have heard this. When FL first told me about Hor Hee, I was like, huh, what's that? So funny one the name.. Hor Hee is not really cantonese also, hor is cantonese but hee is not right?
So wat's hor hee?
So wat's hor hee?
Only after I tried hor hee, only i know hor hee is actually just like the 'hee kiaw mee' in hokkien (if you from malacca than you should know hee kiaw mee). You can opt for kuey tiaw, or mee hun, or mee and even 'dong fun'. There are fish ball, fish cake, tau ge and the soup taste really nice. If you happened to go Ipoh, you should really try this out. You will love it!
