Yum Cha @ the BOH Tea Centre at Sungai Palas Cameron

We spent our CNY eve and the first day of CNY at Cameron, celebrating CNY with FL's relatives there. On the first day of CNY, after we had our breakfast at home, we decided to go out walk walk. Someone suggested the BOH tea farm so here we go!

There are quite a lot of ppl there..

the entrance of the yum cha place

the menu

a closer look at the menu, hmm,
price consider quite ok also lar..

different types of tea

cakes and drinks

hmm, the egg tarts and pies looks good

my teh tarik, RM 2.80

FL kept making fun of me said where got ppl drink teh tarik up there.. well, what's wrong with teh tarik? still tea what right? if i drink coffee then you said it's weird lar.. :p

FL's mango tea, RM 2.50

FL's brother shares a pot of tea with his wife.
forgot what tea, hehe, RM 3.30 per cup

roti bakar, RM 2
not sure why FL ordered this,
not nice lar, i can make better roti bakar. :)

butter lemon cake, RM 3.5

chicken mushroom soup, RM 7.50
hot dog, RM 3
carrot banana cake, RM 5

We actually ordered chicken pie but they gave us chicken mushroom instead. Their cake all taste ok, the best is the hot dog, it's soft and fresh. The rest just so so only..

Our bill adds up to RM 32.90. After sitting there for an hour or two, chit chat, enjoy the beatiful scenary and also the cool weather, we went back to FL's relative's place.

What a nice place for yum cha.. right? erm, i'm not talking about the food and drinks lar, i'm referring to the environment. hehe..

Wulai's Hot Spring Egg with ShaoXing Wine(乌来温泉绍兴酒蛋)

This little store at Ulay's Old Street caught our attention. What is it? What are they selling? Are the gold colors one, eggs? So many questions without answers, the best is to try it out!!

let's take a closer look.
the REAL eggs are in the middle, the surrounding ones
are fake eggs. hehe..

the hot spring egg (温泉蛋), nt 10 each (RM 1.20)
i think beside the hot spring water,
they added some herbs too lar, else why it's black in color?

Egg with ShaoXing Wine(绍兴酒蛋),
nt15 each (RM 1.80)

Well is it good? For me, I feel it's yucky but FL said it was ok. hehe.. The egg was cold and it taste weird to me. Anyway, I think if you like shao xing wine, you probably will like it.

Let's invest in gold!

I've always interested in investment but always have no idea on how to go about it. Recently a friend of mine told me about gold bullion. He told me among all the investments available (shares, unit trust), invest in gold is one of the safest and more reliable investment. I agreed with what he said too. Besides acting as an investment item, buying gold is also well known as one of the best way to preserve one's wealth and purchasing power.

My friend also told me that we can easily purchase silver, gold or other precious metals and coins through Monex Deposit Company (MDC). They will immediately deliver to us or they can arrange for us to keep it in a safe deposit box at any bank.

How to get rid of rice bug ('kuk ngao') ~ Part 2

I'm always having problems with rice bugs. There's only 2 person in the house, I do cook, but not often, then we don't eat much rice. I've tried to buy small packet of rice (1kg/2kg) but it still ends up with a lot rice bug!!

Last month when I was at The Curve, I saw there's a newly open RM 5 shop which sells all kinds of things from Japan (on the 3rd floor). There's all kinds of things there, kitchen stuff, stationary and etc. Then I found this!!

See those english words?
"Prevent insects from entering your rice"
hehe, so i think i can use this to prevent rice bug gua..

inside the box, there's this..

and then this.. the front

and the back

Buried it with rice
Not sure whether it works or not, ~sigh.. i hope it works..

Wulai's Di Gua (Sweet Potato, 乌来蜜汁地瓜)

Luckily we had the pork hotdog before we proceed to the Wulai's hot spring and waterfall. Why? Because in order to see the waterfall, we need to walk almost an hour to go up the hill and another hour to come down the hill. So with the pork hotdog, we have energy to walk that far mar. hehe..

Anyway, when we came down and back to the street that full of temptation (FOOD...) we decided to treat ourselves with food AGAIN!! hehe.. at first we wanted to find a place to have our lunch, but at the end we had snacks till we decided to skip lunch.

I've seen a lot of stalls selling 'di gua' but not sure what is it. Looks like sweet potato but it's much smaller. Therefore we decided to buy some to try...

Sweet Potato 'Di Gua'(蜜汁地瓜), nt50 (RM 5.90)

There are two colors, one red one orange, when we asked her what's the difference, she told us the red one is with skin, the orange one is without. The other side is the sugar. They boiled the sweet potato with sugar, must be pretty sweet. We asked her to mix the red and orange one so that we could try both.

3 red and 3 orange

At first i thought the orange one (without skin) will taste better but surprisingly the red one (with skin) taste better! Basically it taste like sweet potato, except it's sweeter. hehe... not bad lar... but not advisable to eat more, too sweet... So now i know their 'di gua' is actually our sweet potato (蕃薯). hehe..

The best place for honeymoon

I went out for dinner with my ex colleagues last weekend. It has been quite a while since we've met each other. Some of them already got married and some even have kids. Since a lot of married couples, the topics we talked were all about marriage life, kids and then someone started to talk about honeymoon. David told us he went to the Adults Only Resort for his honeymoon, a place on secluded white-sand beaches on the Mexican Riviera Maya. He was very happy that he made the right decision to choose that place to go for his honeymoon because he and his wife had the most unforgettable, stress free, relax and romantic honeymoon there.

The beach is just a few steps away from his room and besides enjoying the sea breeze, the resort serves great food and luxurious spa. Beside these, there are a wide variety of activities such as yoga, ping pong, massage, volleyball and etc. When he was there, he really felt that he had finally found a place where he could really relax and forget about his work and everyday life. What an amazing place, we were all very interested about the place he mentioned.
