How does the real Nan Fei Leaves (南非叶) looks like?

I received a lot of mesg from my readers asking me how the real nan fei leaves (南非叶) looks like, after they read my post on "Nan Fei Leaves (南非叶) prevents cancer, cough, high blood pressure, high cholestrol...".

I managed to get a picture of the Nan Fei plant when I went back to my hometown last weekend. So here's how the real plant looks like.

According to my aunt, this nan fei plant is very easy to grow and it can grow very tall. A lot of ppl now has this plant at their house. Check around your housing area, maybe your neighbour has this plant too!

Fried Pollack Fillet

Few weeks ago when I was doing my grocery shopping at Tesco, I saw this Pollack Fillet. It looks just like the dory fish (is it dory fish too? with a different name? I'm not sure..). I decided to buy it since long time nv eat.

there's 2 slices in a packet,

RM6++ if i'm not mistaken.

i'm going to fry it with bread crumbs and

fried chicken flour.

mix them up..

A friend called earlier to ask us for dinner, we turned down the offer as i'm going to cook the fillet. We told him we can't invite him over as there's only 2 pieces and I don't have extra. Who knows.. At about 7pm (I was just about to start cooking), the door bell rang. Guess who? It's that friend. He came like nothing happened and there's no sign of him leaving. No choice, have to ask him whether wanna have dinner or not and he said YES. Can't cook nice nice fillet already lar. have to cut them into small pieces. Else 3 person how to share 2 fillet?

De Pastry Chef @ Bandar Manjalara

It was a Saturday night, around 10pm++, we were on our way to UOB bank @ Bandar Manjalara to pay my credit card, after our grocery shopping at Carrefour. After I paid my credit card, FL told me.. "I feel like eating Tiramisu ler.."

Huh? Tiramisu? 10pm++ already ler, where to buy Tiramisu? Just when I said that out, we saw the De Pastry Chef in front of us. Wow, it was really his lucky day!!

I saw a lot of ppl there, outside, inside, almost full! They served a lot of interesting drinks (saw it on the tables while i walked into the shop). The minute I walked in, I saw LOT's of cakes. wow!! There were at least 10++ different kinds of cakes available. Blueberry, Strawberry, Hungaria Walnut, Fruit Cocktail, Chocolate Mashmallow, Chocolate Banana, Orange Delight, Oreo Cheese Oreo and many many more. Cakes looks really delicious and EXPENSIVE. Wow, that Tiramisu is much more expensive than those in Coffee Bean and Secret Recipe. We decided to take away instead of dine in.

The Tiramisu quite nice, not too sweet but I prefer the marble cheese cake, really yummy. Looks nice too right? I think one of the reason the shop is full of ppl is that their cakes are really delicious. If you happened to pass by the shop, remember to drop by and get urself a piece of cake. You will love it too. Where is the shop? You know where is the UOB Bank? Just go straight and you will see this De Pastry Chef, it's the corner shop.

Fried Pork Slices (Curry Flavor)

Decided to try out something new as constantly cooking the same dish makes me feel very boring. But i'm lazy to go dig out my recipe book, hmm, let's see what ingredients i have and then only decide what new dish i can come out with.

ok, first marinate the pork slices
(cut meat into thin slices) with
a little bit of sugar, soy sauce,
oyster sauce and curry powder.

After marinate for a few hours
(you can also marinate over night),
fry it with a frying pan, frying pan need less oil
(especially those non stick pans) than wok.

turn to another side after a few minutes.

I met Susan's mother when I went to her house for her house warming party last weekend. I always wanted to meet up Susan's mother as Susan always claimed that her mum is very good in investments.

My Favorite Nasi Lemak!!

I brought an empty tupperware to work this morning to buy nasi lemak for lunch. Hope the stall got open lar. There are a lot of nasi lemak stalls around my work place but there's only one which is nice. They served you hot rice, the sambal is very nice and it's cheap!!

This stall doesn't open everyday, sometimes it's there, sometimes it's not. So it really depends on your luck. And guess what, i'm lucky today. hehe.. Becos i plan to have it for lunch, i decided to add an egg and also sambal sotong.

Looks nice but does it taste good too?

I was chatting with my friend the other day on msn and she told me she was watching a tv programs that introduce nice food from local restaurants. All the food shows on that program looks soooo nice and tempting. One day, she decided to go to one of the restaurant introduce by the tv program. The restaurant looks nice, the food looks very good too. And does is taste good? Oh hell NO!! She claimed that she can cooked better!

Well, it's true, the food looks nice doesn't mean it taste good. Have you ever encountered this before? I have, plenty of times! especially when I go for those buffet dinner. Their food all looks very nice and tempting, especially the desserts. But when you taste it, it doesn't taste as nice as it looks.

Therefore, don't judge a book by it's cover and don't judge food by it looks! haha!!

Apricot Bao Mushroom(杏鲍菇)? The names sounds weird right? After i tried these chinese words in Babel Fish (the translator), I know where they got the name from. These names are translated word by word from Chinese to English, that is why it sounds weird.

There are many ways of eating this. You can either stir fry it with vege, or you can just add it in when you have you meehun/mee soup. How it taste? It's sweet, soft and i heard it's very nutritious too. Try it out yourself!

A small birthday party @ office

Last Wednesday or is it Thursday, (oh my god, so fast i forgot which day, really teruk lar my memory!!) we had a small birthday party for a colleague of mine. When I walked in to the room, the first thing that I had in mind was... har? KFC again ar? FYI, that was the 2nd time I had KFC last week.

Ramli Burgers!!

hehe, KFC also got burgers mar, why we go buy ramli burgers pulak? Well, KFC burgers are getting smaller and smaller and more and more expensive. That is why we go buy ramli burgers lor.. Birthday party sure must have birthday cake lar!!

On a weekday night at about 9pm, we were rounding kepong/manjalara area, trying to find what to eat for our dinner. Finally we gave up finding, as it's late, not much choice, and we're super hungry. We decided to just grab our dinner at Kluang Station @ the WaterFront Desa Park City.
