Breakfast at Fu Gwai Restorant (富贵餐厅)

Today is the second day of our HK trip. We went out from our hotel at about 9:30am. We decided to have our breakfast at somewhere nearby our hotel before we headed out to Wong Tai Sin (黄大仙).

Fu Gwai Restorant (富贵餐厅)

This 'char chan teng' is just opposite our hotel (2 minutes walk), and it's in front of the Yao Ma Tei MTR station.

the breakfast menu.

Each of us was given a cup of chinese tea. We thought it's for us to drink but it seems that it's NOT!! While we're drinking, we saw the next table's customer use this to wash the fork and spoon! So pai seh lar!!

I ordered breakfast E whereas FL ordered the Self Picked breakfast (自选早餐). HKD 21 for each set.

FL's tea.

My coffee.

FL picked the vege, slice meat mee with ham and char siu. They used maggie mee and it taste so so only..

This is my breakfast set, which consists of bacon, hotdog, eggs and bread. The bacon were very nice!! Before I came to HK, a lot of people told me HK food are very big in portion, very big in portion meh? Not really mar, right?

Little Penang Kafe, The Curve

Whenever I go The Curve, my feet will automatically bring me to Sakae Sushi. That is why although I've been to The Curve many many times, I didn't get to try new food. Since I found Niji Sushi @ Bandar Manjalara, Kepong (the best among Sushi King, Genki Sushi, Sakae Sushi, their price are about the same), I do not have the urge to dine in Sakae Sushi anymore. (Thanks to Niji Sushi, without Niji Sushi, you won't be able to see this post. hehe..)

Throughout all the restaurants out there, we chose Little Penang Kafe, why? Well, it's always full of people and it close at 9:30pm. That one is also one of the reason? :p

Little Penang Kafe @ The Curve

Herbal Tea (八宝凉茶), RM 3.30

expensive...I can get a big bottle with RM 5. But it's really hard to get this drink in KL, I wonder why.. Malacca everywhere also got sell ler.. I love this herbal tea!!

Iced Lemon Tea, RM 4.50

Nasi Lemak, RM 9.80

The rice smells soooo nice and the sambal.. OMG.. now i know how come this shop is always full of ppl. It's soooooooooo nice, and see the belacan beside? that is very nice too!! So tasty!!

Aro Chicken, RM 13.50

Actually I don't remember what's the name of this dish, I think aro chicken is the short form of the dish name, i got it from the receipt. This dish taste quite good too, but still I prefer my nasi lemak!!

With 10% of service charge and 5% of government tax, our bills = RM 35.75. It is really a satisfying meal.. I'm glad I've found Niji Sushi, else I won't be able to taste this!!

Are you a wine lover?

I was being invited to a house warming party next weekend. I love to attend house warming parties as I am able to see how people renovate and decorate their house but on the other hand, I am always having trouble in figuring out what to get for them as the house warming gift.

Luckily for this time, this friend of mine is a well known wine lover, although I know a lot of their guests will bring them wine but I think it will not be a problem for a wine lover like him. I decided to get him a bottle of personalized wine from plazawine.com as the gift. Plazawine.com offers a wide range of wines from around the world. When you visit their website, you can browse by wines such as red wines, white wines, rose wines, regional wines, champagne and sparkling wines, liquors and spirits, kosher and organic wines and many many more.

Besides all the wines, Plazawine.com also provides all kinds of wine accessories, from wine glasses, wine table, wine candle to champagne stopper, coasters and etc. I'm really glad that I've decided to get the bottle of wine from plazawine.com. It is such a perfect gift and I am sure my friend would be delighted when he sees the wine.

Are you a wine lover too? If yes, make sure you check out the site!

Beef Porridge with Fried Cheong (牛肉粥与炸肠)

It was already 11pm when we walked back from Temple Street to the Ladies Street. We were so hungry (we're not looking for supper, it's our dinner, we haven't makan dinner yet!!) and we decided to simply find one place to eat, as long as it's cheap. hehe.. so we picked this shop!!

a shop that sells all kinds of porridge,
heard porridge are nice in HK,
must try must try..

there's pepper, chili, and dono
what and what and what.
hehe, didn't try..

fried mee
looks nice so we ordered one too,
but it's not really that tasty.
our mamak mee goreng taste better!

Fried 'Cheong' (炸肠)

What's this? It's plain chee cheong fun and inside is Yao Zha Guai. The dark color sauce is soy sauce (i think..) but not salty one.. How it taste? err, normal lar, taste a bit weird. I think i'm just not used to it lar. hehe..

Beef Porridge (牛肉粥)

Finally, the porridge, The porridge is very nice, smooth and smells really good!! The whole meal took us HKD 37, consider cheap lar right?

I had PORK burgers @ McD!!

While we were waiting for 8pm to come (to see the symphony of lights @ Avenue of Stars, Hong Kong), we decided to go have a drink at the shopping mall nearby. Instead of having a drink, something attracted our attention! what's that? The Pork Hamburger (猪柳蛋汉堡) from McD!! I never had pork @ McD before, have you?

they have a very clear and nice menu there!!
We ordered No. 9

Pork with Egg Hamburger, HKD 23 per set

They only gave ONE packet of tomato sauce and when we asked for chili sauce, the staff stared at us!! Anyway, we regretted that we asked for the chili sauce, why? Their chili sauce sucks...No wonder all of them prefer tomato sauce there!!

looks ugly...

How it taste? Well, actually it taste just like our McD's breakfast, the hamburger. I don't really like it, it's really not that nice..Filet O Fish taste much better! :p No matter what, I've tried something new...

It's time to buy mooncake again!!

Time flies, the mooncake festival is around the corner again!! hehe, still got about one month lar. I saw shopping centres/hypermarket start selling mooncake already. Besides buying for my sis and aunt, I also bought one for myself.

Hoi Ngoi Tin's Noble Delight
海外天 万紫千红, RM 12

There are a 10% discount on all mooncakes @ Tesco. I choose the Hoi Ngoi Tin, Man Zi Qin Hong is because I remembered last year I tried and I love the taste. I wanted to get one without egg yolk but it seems like this year all are with egg yolks. I guess egg yolks gives them better profit.. too bad, i hate egg yolks..

no choice lor.. later got to korek the egg yolk out.

how come it's red color? well, it's made of dragon fruit mar.. I like it because it's not too sweet. If you have not tried before, make sure you buy one to try!

Hui Lao Shan Healthy Dessert (许留山)

I'm sure you guys have heard about this. Even you have not been to Hong Kong, you will also heard of this shop, from friends, from forwarded emails and etc. So famous sure have to try lar right? When I pass by this shop while I was shopping at Mongkok area, I decided to try..

Hui Lau Shan @ Mongkok, Kowloon
(许留山, 九龙旺角阿皆老街71号地下)

you can choose to take away too.

The shop is very small and packed. Tables are small, fat a bit also cannot squeeze in. Tables to tables are so close together. One group of ppl left, another group of ppl in. There's always no empty tables. I think the boss must be very rich lar..

the menu

the waitress asked us to try the promotion set.

Mango 'Sai Mai Lo' (多芒西米捞)
HKD 28

This is amazing!! There's a LOT of mango and they are soooooooo sweet. So so so so so yummy!!! I see the picture also 'lao hao shui' already..yum yum..

Mixed Fruit with Mango Syrup
(什果亮晶晶)
HKD 30, the promotion set

This one quite ok, but the Mango 'Sai mai lo' are nicer!! Our bill = HKD 58!! Eat dessert also need RM 20++.. so damn expensive. hehe.. But the mango sai mai lo is really worth to try!!

Their cashier is quite rude. When I took the receipt, she RAMPAS back and shout at me.. HEY this is not for you lar.. I was not very happy with her rude attitude so I asked her back, I cannot take back the receipt one ar.. She stare at me for a while, print another copy and throw it to me.. what a bad and rude cashier!!

What I think about this shop? Hmm, seriously, dessert alone also need RM 20++, to me it's quite expensive lar. But it's worth to try if you never try before. Forget about those mixed fruit sets, doesn't taste that nice.. must order those sai mai lo!!

Watch out, poker lovers!

Poker is a very popular game in the United States but unfortunately it is not that popular in my country. Luckily there is a place where we can get poker supplies no matter where we are, the American Gaming Supply at http://www.americangamingsupply.com.

My very first meal @ Hong Kong!!

Everyone told me food in Hong Kong is very expensive. They also told me the portion is very big, if you are not a big eater, you can order one and share by two person. Really that expensive and really that big portion? Let's see...

My very first meal @ Hong Kong is at about 4pm. (after travel from Macau to HK, after checked in, after walk here walk there to find a 'Char Chan Teng'.. hehe..) There are a lot of 'char chan teng' but we walked here walked there to see what they offer and most importantly their price!!

Finally after comparing so many shops (actually price almost the same lar, also dono which one is nice..), we simply enter one shop.

Eat to New(新之食)

hehe, funny right, the name of the shop. It's nearby the Woman's Street (女人街), sorry lar, cannot remember exactly where is it already.. There are quite a lot of set meals available, which consists of a drink, a mee or rice. The price of these sets are between HKD 21 to HKD 28 (depends on what drink you order, hot or cold. Cold drinks more expensive).

FL ordered the Ice lemon Honey (冻柠蜜)

I tell you, their Ice lemon Honey is 100% not the same as ours! It's YUCKY!! It taste like cough medicine to me!! I don't understand how come lemon + honey will taste like that!!

My hot coffee, taste normal lar,
the milk taste very strong!!

FL's 'Tong Por Yuk' Rice (东波肉饭)
taste normal lar.. rice they give a lot!!

Ketchup mince meat mee (番茄肉碎面)

this is amazing!! A very big bowl but it's soooooooo tasty and I finished all by myself! I was so in love with this mee and wanted to go back to this shop again but unfortunately I can't find this shop anymore!! Miss their mince meat mee!! So so so so so so so DELICIOUS!!!!

HKD 20+ for each set so we paid HKD 48 (about RM 20++ for a simple meal at a simple char chan teng) for this meal. I guess this is consider cheap for them lar.. food is really expensive there!! Luckily, it's worth for the price.. yummy..
