What do you like for breakfast?

Believe it or not.. it's easier for you to wake up if you know you are going to have a superb breakfast later. Don't believe me? Haha, maybe not to everybody but to me, YES!! If i know i'm going to have a breakfast that I like, I probably will wake up earlier. hehe ... ya ya, i know i'm a 'wai sek guai'!!

So what's my favorite breakfast? Well, I love breakfast, american style breakfast, with toast, egg, ham, hotdog, baked beans, coffee, and my favorite, BACON!!

The weather is so hot nowadays, a lot of ppl fall sick. There's really nothing much we can do on the weather, the only thing we can do is try to avoid getting sick!

We probably will start with a little bit of flu, then sore throat, then fever, then serious flu and etc. So in order to prevent this to happen, boil some Chrysanthemum tea at home and drink as often as you can. It can prevent you to get sore throat, to get heaty, to get ulcers..

let it boil for 15 minutes..

Spinach (Bayam) with Gei Ji and Dong Guai

I love spinach and I love when it's cooked with gei ji and dong guai. How to cook this dish? Here's what we need.

I prefer to separate the leaves and the stem
because unlike the leaves,
the stem needs longer time to cook.

few pieces of dong guai.

this is very good for our eyes!!

before we start cooking,
pour a glass of water into a pot, boiled it for
10 minutes together with gei ji and dong guai.

heat up the oil and saute garlic
when the garlic turned brownish,
add a little bit of soy sauce.

add in the stems.
stir fry for a little while..
add in a bit of oyster sauce.

add in the leaves, fry fry fry..

pour the boiled gei ji and dong guai from the
pot into the wok. stir fry for a while..

there you go..
spinach is full of vitamins and minerals and it's
not an expensive vegetable too.
so eat more..
popeye loves spinach too.. :)

Fish

Garlic, chopped.

Ginger

heat up oil + sesame oil

saute garlic and half of the ginger.
when the garlic turned brown..

pour on top of the fish.
place the rest of the ginger
on top of the fish.

Add a little bit of oyster sauce and
a tablespoon of the

Chinese Style Spaghetti

It has been quite some times since I last ate spaghetti. I decided to cook spaghetti for dinner tonight therefore I went to giant during lunch to get the spaghetti.

When I'm back home only i realized i don't really have the necessary ingredients to cook spaghetti. Well, who said we must use those ingredients to cook? I can cook with my own style too mar right?

Why do I call it chinese style? well, cos i cook it using the chinese way. hehe. ok let me explained. The ingredients I used : onions, french beans and minced meat.

1. Stir fry onion, add in soy sauce.
2. add in mince meat and add in little bit of oyster sauce and chili powder.
3. add in french beans.
4. add in the spaghetti sauce and tomato sauce.
5. boil spaghetti in boiling water for a few minutes and pour the sauce over it.

So there you go, my chinese style spaghetti.

Half bowl of rice?

The whole world is having shortage for rice. This morning I heard this from the radio, they said actually we only required to eat half bowl of rice every meal. This half bowl of rice consists everything we need.

Well, for gals i guess half bowl of rice is not a problem but for guys? Guys need to eat a lot especially those who need to spend a lot of energy during work. You ask them to eat half bowl of rice? besides feeling hungry, they probably feel energy-less too!

Is this a solution for us to solve this rice shortage problem? ~sigh.. Might as well asked us not to eat rice lar, eat something else instead..

Wash your washing machine!

We always used the washing machine to clean our dirty clothes, have you ever thought of washing your washing machine? I heard this from my ex colleague, she told me there's a kind of powder to wash the washing machine. Fill the washing machine with water, pour in this powder and let it wash the washing machine.

Too bad i forgot to ask her what's the difference after washing the washing machine with the powder.. hmm, anybody used before?

Chinese herbal cough medicine

It had been quite some time since i last stepped into the chinese medicine shop ('yok choy pou'). When I was back to my hometown few weeks ago, I went into one to help my aunt to get something. I saw a lot of ppl asking the boss if cough eat wat. i tried so many different kinds of western medicine, nv try chinese medicine also, maybe i should give it a try. Therefore, when the boss come served me, I also ask him what to eat for cough. Then he intro this to me.

it seems to work, when i eat, i don't cough. but the problem is, i kept forget to eat. meaning to say, i eat in the morning, then lunch and dinner forgot. Then maybe the next day i forgot to eat, so end up i am still coughing. perhaps if i really follow the instructions, eat 3 times per day can really cure my cough? I think i will go buy another bottle and follow the instructions, to see whether it will really cure my cough or not.

How to eat? Well, normally we used serai to cook tom yam soup, paprik and some malay dishes. Besides that, when you know you going to cook extra rice to keep for the next day, put serai into the rice cooker to cook together with the rice. Or when you cook some spicy dishes, you can add it in too. I actually quite like the taste of serai.

How to clean your hood filter

I feel very headache everytime when I want to clean the hood's filter. It's very oily, i tried using different kinds of detergent, dish washer and etc to clean but none of it works. Just now while I was cleaning the filter, I accidentally washed it with vim powder. I'm so surprised and happy that it really cleaned very well.

The vim powder seems to absorb the oil and able to clean the filter very well. If you are having problems finding ways to clean your hood's filters too, maybe you can try the vim. It really save me a lot of time!!

Leg cramps? What to do?

I hate leg cramps, it's painful and normally it happened while we were asleep. You will be awake with a sudden pain. What to do to get rid of that?

I once heard from dono who, says when leg cramps, instead of lying down, quickly stand up and straightened your leg and it will go away quickly. I tried and it works. I google a bit and found out there's actually other ways to get rid of the leg cramps, besides straightening your leg, you can also try to walk on the affected leg, take a hot bath (by the time u take bath i think the cramp already go away lar. hehe..), massaging the affected muscle and etc.

and how to prevent it? Drink plenty of water during the day, stretch your leg muscles before bedtime and get adequate potassium in your diet. So try these when you have night leg cramps next time.

Birds eat nan fei leaves too!

Previously I have 3 plants at my balcony. One is the leaf which can cure flu (which can reduce cholestrol as well, not sure what's the name of the leaf), another one is pandan leaves and the other one is some plant (canot eat one, decorative purpose only). So one day, some birds came and start eating my flu plant. Everyday you will see one leaf gone and few weeks later, my flu plant becomes botak.

When I went back to my hometown, my aunt gave me the flu plant again together with the nan fei plant. And guess what, the birds are back, but this time they stopped eating my flu plant, they started to eat my nan fei leaf!!!!

see, birds also know nan fei leaves are good..
